வரலாற்று சிறப்பு மிக்க ஆற்காடு நகரம் தாஜ்பூரில் இயங்கிவரும் தாருல் உலூம் சிப்கத்துல்லாஹ் மதரஸாவில், நாட்டின் 80வது சுதந்திர தின விழா 15.08.2026 அன்று காலை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.
இந்த விழாவில் பங்கேற்ற சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களுக்கு, நான் எழுதிய "உலகில் வீசும் இஸ்லாமிய ஒளி" மற்றும் "இந்திய முஸ்லிம்கள் பாகம்-1" ஆகிய இரண்டு நூல்கள் நினைவுப் பரிசாக வழங்கப்பட்டன. நூல்களை வழங்க அனுமதித்த மதரஸா நிர்வாகிகளுக்கு நன்றி.
A good story...!
It was three in the morning. Mega Star Mammootty, after finishing the shoot of his new film directed by Nidheesh Sakadev under the Mammootty Kampany banner, was rushing back to Kerala from Karaikudi. With him were his manager George, producer Anto Joseph, and friend, actor and MLA Ramesh Pisharody.
When they reached Tiruppur, the highway was closed. They continued the journey using Google Maps. But Google Maps repeatedly showed wrong routes and kept them wandering for more than an hour.
Annoyed, Mammootty said, “Let’s go back to the hotel in Karaikudi. We can leave tomorrow morning when the road opens…”
Hearing this, the others looked at one another. Because all the next day’s programmes would have to be cancelled. As soon as Mammootty spoke, the driver turned the car around.
They thought of asking someone for help on the way, but at that hour no one was to be seen. No vehicles or people were coming that way.
They reached a place called Pattamangalam. At a petrol bunk there, a young man was sleeping covered with a mosquito net. They woke him up and asked for another route to Kerala. But all the routes he mentioned were the same closed ones they had already travelled and returned from.
While he was explaining the alternative routes, a man who had been sleeping a little distance away came near them.
Standing outside, he asked the people who were enquiring about the way,
“Are you going to Kerala…?” and then looked intently inside the car.
Surprise appeared on his face… his sleepiness completely vanished.
“Are you Mammootty sir…? Come, follow me,” he said, and rode ahead of the car on a bike.
Routes that even Google did not know… for 15 kilometres he rode in front, then stopped the bike at one place and said, “Look there… if you go straight on that road, it leads to Kerala…” and prepared to take leave.
“What a good man… If he tells anyone tomorrow that he saw Mammootty and showed him the way, will they believe him?” said Ramesh Pisharody.
Hearing this, Mammootty suddenly got down from the car and asked,
“What is your name…?”
“Pandiyan…”
“Give me your phone…”
Mammootty took the phone from him and handed it to Ramesh Pisharody.
Mammootty hugged Pandiyan…
“Pandiyan is my friend from now on,” he said, and asked Ramesh Pisharody to take a photo on Pandiyan’s own phone.
Mammootty thanked him and took leave…
