Let us shed light on the incident from Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
The victim has now given a statement to the media. The Muslim man said:
“I am a daily wage laborer and work nearby. It is the month of Ramadan. The mosque is a little far from here, and going there takes more time, which affects my work. Because of that, for the past three days I have been offering Zuhr prayer in that empty field. No one ever objected.
But yesterday, suddenly a man came. I had not even completed my prayer when he attacked me and brutally beat me during Namaz.”
Local residents have demanded that anyone who attempts to disrupt the unity and integrity of the country through such acts should be immediately arrested and sent to jail.
It is being reported that Arvind Sharma already has a case registered under Section 302 and has been sentenced to life imprisonment. He was allegedly out on parole and then attacked a laborer during prayer. It is also being questioned whether he had any concern about violating his parole conditions.
The matter has now been taken into cognizance by Uttarakhand Police.
So far, no major action has been announced, but assurances have been given.
According to a video statement by SP Crime/Traffic Jitendra Chaudhary, necessary legal action has been initiated and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have stated that appropriate steps will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
