Masjid al-Fash...!

Masjid al-Fash — Madinah, Saudi Arabia

Near the foot of Mount Uhud in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, stands the small historic Masjid al-Fash, located on the Qiblah side near the route leading toward the Al-Jarar valley.

Some historical reports associate the site with the Battle of Uhud, mentioning that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered the cave above it and prayed there.

The mosque is modest in size, measuring approximately 3.8 metres north-to-south and 3.2 metres east-to-west. Over time, much of the original structure disappeared, leaving portions of the southern wall. A recessed mihrab remains visible in the surviving section.

Historical estimates place its construction around the period of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, when he governed Madinah, Saudi Arabia, during the Umayyad era.

Following restoration of the mosque and its surroundings, the location has become a small historical site visited by travellers exploring the landmarks around Mount Uhud, Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
