A 65-year-old mechanic, Satti Siva Narayana Reddy, built a homemade escalator for his wife, who suffers from severe knee pain.
He spent around ₹70,000 to help her climb the 21 steps to the first floor of their home .
He had planned the idea two years ago.
The escalator was completed recently.
