Yesterday, we made a comprehensive complaint to expose, vivify, and thwart the blatant crude attempts of parties—during and just before the electoral process—to subordinate and sabotage it and distort democracy.

Let's take into account the release of the film 'Delhi 2020'. The film has been promoted by BJP leaders as if they are co-directors/investors/producers in the film. They are promoting it with crude propaganda. 

The trailer for the film was shared on the social media handle of Mr. Malviya of the BJP. Needless to add, it contained a grossly exaggerated and distorted sequence of events.

There is a question that the nation must ask: why release such a film just days before the elections? In 2019, the BJP released a Modi biopic, just days before the general election. We approached the Election Commission and the Supreme Court, and the ECI issued orders to defer the screening and release of that movie until after the elections. 

We hope and trust the ECI will act in the same way this time and follow its own precedent. If such films are released around the dates of elections, you are throwing electoral fairness and transparency into the dustbin. 

We strongly condemn this act of the BJP to disturb public tranquillity.
