Speech....!

 Kalyan Banerjee speech.

Today, I vehemently opposed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, in the Lok Sabha, stating that it poses a serious threat to the fundamental principles of the Constitution. I strongly condemned the proposed removal of Section 40 from the Waqf Act of 1995, emphasizing that this change would strip the Waqf Board of its authority and render it powerless.

"If Section 40 is abolished, the Waqf Board will be reduced to a mere puppet, devoid of any real power," I asserted. I also accused the central government of attempting to seize control of Waqf properties through these amendments—an action that is both unjustified and detrimental to the rights of the community.

I firmly believe that this bill undermines the very institution responsible for protecting Waqf properties, ultimately jeopardizing the welfare of those who rely on them.
