 Speech.....!

I have been in politics since 2004, so I'd like to tell you a little bit about my experience.

When I started, I used to see different types of politicians. Some had very smart ideas; others spoke really well. Some people would talk very deeply about issues such that they would almost give you a PhD thesis. And each politician has some balance of these qualities. 

When you read the newspapers, you'll say that one politician is an expert in his field or that he speaks really well. But soon after, I realised that people are not interested in how well a politician speaks or how well he thinks about something.

Because before you speak or think about something, you have to feel it. And I discovered that what people actually want from politicians is their ability to feel for them.

Often, this is not so obvious. Somebody thinking only about their future can give a good speech. Someone who thinks deeply about a subject can actually impress people because that's all he wants. 

However, feelings come from inside. It's an act of humility. 

When you see a farmer, do you see him just as a farmer or as a human being? Do you feel his fear that it might not rain? Do you feel how worried he is for his children when he goes to sleep?
